Selene Martello is a freelance dancer, choreographer and teacher currently based in Stuttgart and member of the Produktionszentrum Stuttgart. From 2017 to July 2021 she has been working at the Stadttheater Pforzheim, under the direction of Guido Markowitz and Damian Gmür. She is a certified Yoga Teacher and graduated in 2018 at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste with a Bachelor in Contemporary Dance.
»I move to heal my body and my mind. I’m a thinker therefore moving and creating gives a direction to my thoughts and helps me stopping them when I need to disconnect. ‘How can I as honest and authentic on stage as I am in reality?’ Is one of my recurring question. I feel the need to connect to what I represent on stage. Sometimes it comes naturally and sometimes I have to search for that specific character in one of the facets of my personality. ‘How can I be real while being myself?’«
