Miriam is a contemporary dancer from Italy with a background in social psychology research (London). She uses her theoretical knowledge to implement different impacts of artwork. Her work is characterized by interdisciplinary collaborations with different genres.
In dance, I am particularly fascinated by seemingly contradictory elements, contrasts, which can exist together, seemingly simultaneously, and bring tension to the quality of movement. I like working with subtle gestures and movements that are filled with different meanings and can therefore be interpreted in different ways. This brings diversity to the narrative of the dance. In addition, I am interested in dance exchanges with people with various backgrounds and styles. Here, I often learn new and exciting movement repertoire. However, I find it even more interesting to learn about the way the movement is carried out and the quality of that movement. This does not only refer to "professional" dancers. Each person has special characteristics, peculiarities in posture, movement, gestures. I love to explore these and inspire my dance with them.
